Vice Minister of Education Wang Jiayi visited New Zealand from June 7–9.
During his visit, Wang met with New Zealand’s Secretary for Education Ellen MacGregor-Reid and attended the China–New Zealand High-Level Officials’ Education Policy Dialogue. The two sides held in-depth discussions on teachers’ capacity building, students’ well-rounded development, and other issues. They agreed to leverage their complementary strengths, improve existing intergovernmental educational dialogue mechanisms, support more high-quality joint educational programs, and enhance practical cooperation in basic education and other areas.
Wang also visited the Wellington campus of Massey University, Wētā Workshop, and Scots College. He learned about talent development in the creative industries, students’ mental health education, and sports and arts education, and exchanged views with representatives from the education and industry sectors.
