Vice Minister of Education Wang Guangyan visited the Republic of Belarus from June 15–18.
During his visit, Wang attended and addressed the Tenth Meeting of Education Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States. In his address, Wang highlighted China’s achievements in educational development and expressed China’s readiness to work with other parties to deepen educational cooperation among SCO member countries. On behalf of the Chinese Ministry of Education, he signed the Minutes of the Meeting.
While in Belarus, Wang attended the China–Belarus International Conference on Industry–University–Research Cooperation, the first of its kind hosted by China overseas; witnessed the launch of the China–Belarus Institutes of Excellent Engineers; and participated in celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of the Confucian Institute at the Belarusian State University.
In addition, Wang met with Belarusian Education Minister Andrei Ivanets and Russian Education Minister Sergei Kravtsov, exchanging views on strengthening educational cooperation.
Chinese Ambassador to Belarus Zhang Wenchuan attended relevant events.
