Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng met with Stephen A. Schwarzman, Chairman and CEO of Blackstone, and his delegation in Beijing on May 14. The two sides exchanged views on China–U.S. educational cooperation and the future development of Schwarzman Scholars at Tsinghua University.

Huai commended Schwarzman for his long-standing support for the program and for talent development. He said recent meetings between Chinese and U.S. leaders had sent a positive signal of stability to the international community. Huai expressed the hope that Schwarzman would continue to support expanded cooperation in areas related to “AI plus education”, strengthen educational exchange, and contribute to more stable, healthy and sustainable development of China–U.S. relations.

Schwarzman thanked the MOE for its support for Schwarzman Scholars over the past decade and spoke highly of China’s progress in education. He said he looked forward to continuing to building bridges that help more outstanding young people better understand China.
