Vice Minister of Education Du Jiangfeng met with Kitty van der Heijden, Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), in Beijing on April 23.
Du spoke highly of the substantial outcomes of UNICEF’s educational cooperation with China. He said that the Chinese Ministry of Education (MOE) would further enhance practical collaboration between the two sides in vocational education, digital education, and other areas.
Van der Heijden commended China’s achievements in educational development. She said that UNICEF would expand its partnership with the MOE in order to share China’s experiences and expertise with more countries in the Global South and jointly promote education for children and youth around the world.
Following their meeting, the two sides signed the Memorandum of Understanding Between the MOE and UNICEF on South–South and Triangular Cooperation in Vocational Education.
