The 2025 International School Sport Federation (ISF) U15 World School Volleyball Championship officially concluded in Shangluo, Shaanxi Province, on December 12. The event was co-organized by the Chinese Student Sports Federation (CSSF) and the Shangluo Municipal Government.

Thirty teams representing 17 delegations from around the world came together for an eight-day competition.

The girls’ final saw P.R. China 1 win 3–0 over Chinese Taipei to secure the championship. It was the second time a Chinese team had won the girls’ championship, after the first win in 2019. P.R. China’s girls’ team 2 won fifth place and the boys’ teams 1 and 2 earned fifth and ninth places.

During the event, delegations visited six local schools, where they toured cultural exhibitions and watched performances as well as tried their hand at Chinese calligraphy, painting, and paper-cutting. In addition, they practiced martial arts and played traditional musical instruments. A gala was also held that included delegation presentations of cultural products and performances from their respective countries or regions.

As an important member of ISF, the CSSF won the opportunity to host four consecutive editions of World School Volleyball Championship events at Shangluo, including two U15 competitions—the recent competition held this month as well as one in 2027—and two U18 competitions to be held in 2026 and 2028. These activities play a significant role in promoting school volleyball games, improving the student sports competition system, and facilitating the cultivation of sports talent as required by China’s National “Three Major Ball Games” Enhancement Strategy, which focuses on basketball, football, and volleyball.
