Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng met with Jacinta Allan, Premier of the State of Victoria, Australia, in Beijing on September 15.
Huai welcomed Allan’s visit and commended the fruitful outcomes of China–Victoria educational cooperation. They discussed deepening mutually beneficial collaboration in education, enhancing mutual understanding and friendship among youth, and creating an open, positive environment for international educational exchange. Huai expressed the hope that the two sides would explore new models and projects in areas of Sino-Australian youth and student exchanges, high-level joint educational programs, and industry–academia–research collaboration, unlocking new potential for cooperation and fostering closer Sino-Australian relations.
Allan stated that the Victorian State Government places a high priority on its educational ties with China and welcomes Chinese students to study in Victoria. She said Victoria will strengthen language and cultural exchanges and will leverage its strengths to support higher education and research partnerships.
Following their meeting, Huai and Allan witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on establishing a joint working group.
