The China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Doctoral Training Innovation Center held a ceremony to celebrate the beginning of the new academic year at the International Campus of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, on September 5. Vice Minister of Education Wu Yan attended the event and delivered a speech.
With this ceremony, the Center welcomed its first cohort of 120 doctoral students from SCO member states.
Wu noted that the official opening of the China–SCO Doctoral Training Innovation Center marks a new chapter in SCO’s high-level talent training cooperation. He called for joint efforts to advance the Center’s development through top-tier talent cultivation, high-level scientific research, and the effective application of research outcomes. He also encouraged the first cohort of doctoral students to study hard, pioneer innovation, serve the world, and foster friendship.
