The inauguration ceremony for the China–SCO Higher Education Cooperation Center and Vocational and Technical Education Cooperation Center was held in Tianjin on September 2. Vice Minister of Education Wu Yan attended the event and delivered a speech.

Highlighting educational cooperation as a key aspect of SCO’s development, Wu said that the launch of these two centers is a concrete step toward implementing the guidance of President Xi Jinping’s important speech at the SCO Summit and advancing practical cooperation in education. He stressed that the two centers will serve as new platforms for SCO educational cooperation, embodying the member states’ shared vision to promote educational reform and to enhance people’s well-being. He called for joint efforts to develop the centers with full commitment and ensure that they fulfill their roles.

Other officials attending the ceremony included Deputy Party Secretary of the CPC Tianjin Committee Liu Guiping, Vice Mayor of Tianjin Zhang Ling, President of Xi’an Jiaotong University Zhang Liqun, and China’s SCO National Coordinator Fan Xianrong.
