Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng led a delegation to Chile from August 28 to 29 to attend the UNESCO World Summit on Teachers and the 2030 High-Level Steering Committee Meeting.

During his visit, Huai held a brief discussion with Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, and other ministers attending the meetings. He met with the Chilean Minister of Education Nicolás Cataldo, and UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education Stefania Giannini. He also visited the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Huai exchanged views with other ministers on educational cooperation and discussed with UNESCO leaders issues related to the UNESCO International Institute for STEM Education.

When meeting with Minister Cataldo, Huai acknowledged the remarkable results achieved in bilateral educational cooperation, especially in areas such as student exchange, language teaching, and communication between educational institutions in China and Chile. He expressed a willingness to explore new cooperation models in areas of common concern such as digital education, vocational education, and industry–education integration. The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in education.

Chinese Ambassador to Chile Niu Qingbao also participated in various activities.
