Vice Minister of Education Wu Yan met with YB Wong Kah Woh, Deputy Minister of Education of Malaysia, in Beijing on June 16.
Wu outlined the latest developments in China’s educational reform and spoke highly of the outcomes achieved in Sino-Malaysian educational cooperation. Highlighting educational cooperation and exchange as an essential part of China–Malaysia relations, he expressed hope that the two sides would deepen partnership in areas such as basic education, higher education, vocational education, digital education, teacher training, and student exchange. He also encouraged efforts to develop more demonstration projects at the national, local, and individual school levels, creating a model for China–ASEAN educational cooperation and contributing to the next “Fifty Golden Years” of China–Malaysia relations.
Wong stated that Malaysia attaches great importance to its educational partnership with China. He expressed Malaysia’s desire to learn from China’s experience in basic education, smart education, and other areas, facilitate the renewal of the memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the two countries and explore new grounds in bilateral educational collaboration.
