Vice Minister of Education Du Jiangfeng met with Jouke de Vries, President of the University of Groningen (UG) in the Netherlands, on May 22 in Beijing.

Du praised UG for its pioneering role and notable achievements in Sino-European academic exchange and cooperation. He encouraged the university to continue to serve as an exemplary partner for Chinese higher education institutions (HEIs) by enhancing joint talent cultivation and scientific research in key areas and expanding collaboration in digital education and youth exchange.

De Vries expressed his appreciation for support from the Chinese Ministry of Education for UG’s collaborative initiatives in China. He said that his university places a high priority on its partnership with Chinese HEIs and will continue to deepen cooperation, contributing to Sino-Dutch educational ties and people-to-people exchange.
