Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng visited the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) and the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange (CCIPE) on April 30.
During meetings with faculty, staff, and students, Huai reaffirmed President Xi Jinping’s call to expand China’s global educational presence and cultivate more internationally engaged talent. He encouraged UIBE, a leading institution in international trade and economics, to deepen its role in serving China’s development priorities, particularly amid rapidly evolving global trade dynamics.
Huai called for the university to align its academic disciplines and programs with national strategic needs, enhance collaboration across research platforms, and continue developing talent in international politics, law, and business. He also stressed the importance of expanding high-quality employment opportunities for graduates and increasing China’s visibility in global education.
At the CCIPE, Huai highlighted the need for deeper cultural dialogue and cooperation. He urged the center to develop a multi-layered, globally integrated platform for people-to-people exchange, supporting key national strategies such as the vision of a shared future for humanity.
The minister also emphasized the importance of inter-agency coordination and institutional innovation to enhance China’s soft power and international educational influence.
