The National Exhibition of University Student Innovation Achievements, themed “Song of Youth,” opened at the National Museum of China in Beijing on April 29. Jointly organized by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the exhibition showcases entries in the last China International College Students’ Innovation Competition (CICSIC). Wu Yan, Vice Minister of Education, delivered remarks at the opening ceremony. Gao Zheng, Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism and Director of the National Museum, also attended the event.

Citing continued encouragement from President Xi Jinping, who sent letters to student participants in the CICSIC in both 2017 and 2024, Wu Yan noted that these encouraging messages have inspired university students to align their personal dreams with the greater Chinese Dream and contribute to national rejuvenation through action. Wu added that after a decade of development, the CICSIC has grown into the world’s largest innovation and entrepreneurship event for university students. With participation from “hundreds of countries, thousands of universities, and millions of young people”, it serves as a global platform for aspiring innovators and a model of China’s contribution to the transformation of higher education worldwide. Wu also urged students to continue their pursuit of innovation, making their voices heard and their impact felt on the path to national revitalization.

As the first state-level exhibition hosted by the National Museum of China in 2025, the event highlights national strategies and youth development as it features 118 cutting-edge innovation projects organized into three thematic sections. It offers a panoramic view of multidisciplinary, practice-based, and future-oriented innovations by university students in the new era. Student participants and their mentors from the CICSIC attended the exhibition.
