Vice Minister of Education Wu Yan met with Macao SAR Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture O Lam in Beijing on March 31.
Wu Yan acknowledged the Macao SAR’s active integration into the national development agenda and expressed hope that Macao would leverage its unique advantage of having support of the motherland while being connected to the world. He encouraged Macao to strengthen its ties with high-quality sci-tech and education resources in the mainland and facilitate the application of university research outcomes, contributing to China’s development into a world leader in education, science and technology, and talent training.
O Lam provided an overview of Macao’s efforts in talent cultivation, patriotic education, exchanges between teachers and students from Macao and the mainland, and the development of the Guangdong–Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.
