Vice Minister of Education Du Jiangfeng met with Prof. Tshilidzi Marwala, Rector of the United Nations University (UNU) and Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, on Feb. 26 in Beijing.

Du commended the UNU’s progress in educational exchange and cooperation efforts in China and introduced recent developments in China’s education sector. He expressed support for enhancing cooperation between Chinese higher education institutions (HEIs) and the UNU in talent training, digital education, artificial intelligence, and other areas. He also encouraged both sides to jointly promote international academic exchange and research collaboration, in order to improve global educational governance.

Marwala acknowledged China’s remarkable achievements in education and expressed hope that the UNU would work closely with the MOE and Chinese HEIs to cultivate more high-level international talent.
