Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng met with Dr. Joseph W. Polisi, President Emeritus and Chief China Officer of The Juilliard School in Beijing on Feb. 13.

Huai commended the achievements of the joint program between The Juilliard School and the Tianjin Conservatory of Music in China, and encouraged both institutions to further improve their talent cultivation and expand their program’s influence. He said the MOE will support The Juilliard School’s participation in the “50,000 in Five Years” initiative (a plan to invite 50,000 young Americans to China on exchange and study programs in five years), to create a brand in China-US people-to-people exchange and promote educational cooperation.

Dr. Polisi expressed appreciation for the MOE’s support of The Juilliard School’s cooperation program. He pledged to cultivate a larger number of international arts professionals in collaboration with the Tianjin Juilliard School and contribute to educational and cultural exchange between the two countries.
