Wu Yan visits Russia

Vice Minister of Education Wu Yan led a delegation to Russia from January 22 to 27 to implement the consensus reached by the presidents of China and Russia on strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions in the two countries, particularly in basic research.

During his visit, Wu met with Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. They agreed to jointly support the establishment of the Sino-Russian Academy of Fundamental Sciences, advance the joint training of doctoral students and young scholars, and promote cooperation in scientific research.

Wu also met with Andrey Korneev, Russian Deputy Minister of Education. They exchanged views on cooperation in basic education, vocational education, and teacher education.

In addition, Wu attended the 270th Anniversary of the founding of Moscow State University and visited Saint Petersburg State University. He encouraged these universities to enhance cooperation with major Chinese universities in basic research, application-oriented research, engineering technology education, and digital education.

Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui and Chinese Consul General in St. Petersburg Luo Zhanhui attended these events.
