Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng met with Christina Egelund, Minister for Higher Education and Science of Denmark, in Beijing on Jan. 7. The two sides exchanged views on deepening Sino-Danish cooperation in the higher education sector.
Huai stressed that Denmark was among the first Western countries to establish diplomatic ties with China and has been ahead of other Northern European countries in maintaining its formal relationship with China. He also said that China has regarded Denmark as a crucial partner in educational development and will work with Denmark to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two nations. This effort will include enhancing communication and collaboration in the fields of climate change, low-carbon development, and environmental protection, as well as promoting Sino-Danish educational cooperation and advancing bilateral relations through educational exchange.
Egelund spoke highly of the significant progress in Sino-Danish educational cooperation over the past 75 years. She expressed hope for further strengthening the partnership between the two countries, focusing on mutual growth in education, science and technology, talent development, and other areas.
Following their meeting, the ministers signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Higher Education Cooperation Between the Ministry of Education of China and the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of Denmark.
