Vice Minister of Education Wu Yan delivered a video address at the opening ceremony of the Global University Presidents & Leaders Summit 2024, held in Hong Kong on Dec. 2. The forum, themed “Globalization of Knowledge,” brought together more than 50 university presidents from the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, South Africa, as well as from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong.

In his remarks, Wu highlighted the profound impact of the ongoing technological revolution and industrial transformation on the creation and dissemination of knowledge. He emphasized that the forum’s theme aligns with the urgent need to revisit education systems and explore innovative pathways for educational development in the digital age.

Wu called for stronger collaboration between Chinese and international universities in cultivating educational and technological talent, focusing on preparing the next generation of global leaders. He encouraged large-scale digital education partnerships to enhance the sharing of high-quality educational resources. Additionally, he advocated for deeper youth exchange to foster mutual understanding and contribute to a brighter future for global education.
