Huai Jinpeng and Wu Yan meet with education ministers

Education Minister Huai Jinpeng met with Kazakh Minister of Education Gani Beisembayev on Nov. 21 during the World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference. Both sides exchanged views on results-based educational cooperation between China and Kazakhstan.

Huai acknowledged remarkable achievements in Sino-Kazakh educational cooperation under the strategic guidance of President Xi and President Tokayev. He said that China is willing to work with Kazakhstan to establish a digital education coalition under the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and a mechanism for China-Central Asia education ministers meeting. He added that China will also share experiences in promoting vocational education with Kazakhstan, and encourage local education institutions in China to cooperate with their counterparts in Kazakhstan in a variety of fields such as medicine, agriculture, and manufacturing.

Vice Minister of Education Wu Yan met with other education ministers during the conference, including: Minister of Labor and Skills Development of Ethiopia Muferihat Kamil Ahmed; Minister of Higher Education and Training of South Africa Nobuhle Nkabane; First Deputy Minister of Education of Belarus Bakhanovich Alexander Gennadievich; Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan Otabek Makhkamov, State Secretary of the Ministry of Education of Serbia Jasmin Hodzic. Wu said that China attaches great importance to educational cooperation with these countries, especially in higher education, vocational education, and digital education.

Foreign guests all wished the current conference a resounding success. They applauded great achievements made by China in education, and expressed willingness to push forward educational cooperation with China in various areas.
