Wang Guangyan visits Singapore, signs educational cooperation action plans

Vice Minister of Education Wang Guangyan met with Lim Wan Yong, Permanent Secretary of Singapore’s Ministry of Education, on Nov. 11 during the China-Singapore Bilateral Cooperation Mechanism Meeting in Singapore. They discussed the implementation of the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries as well as the memorandum of understandings between the Chinese Ministry of Education and the Singaporean Ministry of Education, and signed the Action Plan on Higher Education Cooperation and the Action Plan on Education Technology Cooperation between the two ministries of education.

Wang highlighted China’s recent progress from the National Education Conference and its efforts to develop into a global leader in education. He commended the achievements of China-Singapore education collaboration and expressed hope for further cooperation in higher education talent cultivation, research innovation, technology transfer and application, and more areas. He said that advancing cooperation in digital and vocational education and promoting youth exchanges will help build a high-quality, forward-looking partnership between the two countries.

Lin stated that Singapore and China share a solid foundation for educational cooperation across various fields. She said she will commit to strengthening policy communication, enhancing the cooperation mechanism, and expanding collaboration scope, in order to achieve concrete outcomes for the bilateral cooperation.
