To fully implement the national rural revitalization strategy, the Ministry of Education (MOE) held its 2024 Work Seminar of the Expert Advisory Committee, with the goal of organizing teams of educational personnel to aid key impoverished counties, on Aug. 21–22.
The seminar noted that, since the establishment of the Expert Advisory Committee, the member experts have conducted in-depth research and offered targeted guidance. Their efforts have empowered the assisted schools to improve educational quality, teacher capability, student development, and overall management, thus achieving the goal of supporting the weak in the interests of mutual development.
The seminar highlighted the new mission facing the dispatched teams of educational personnel. They need to align their actions with the Party’s requirements, including adopting innovative practices to guide teaching improvement through demonstration and observation in the assisted schools. Support mechanisms should be put in place to create synergies between the assistance teams from eastern regions and the beneficiary schools in western regions, while greater efforts should be made to engage with relevant government departments, schools with quality resources, businesses, and civil society organizations to secure greater support. In addition, the assistance teams should increase onsite guidance and visits to partner schools and expand discussion and exchange with principals and key teachers in the beneficiary schools, in order to enhance the effectiveness and impact of the assistance activities.
The seminar was held in both virtual and in-person formats, with participation by officials from the Talent Work Bureau of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Teacher Education Department of the MOE, members of the Expert Advisory Committee, and representatives of school principals from assistance teams in the eastern part of China.
