Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng led an official delegation to Uzbekistan from July 6 to 8.
During his visit, Huai attended the 20th anniversary celebration of the Confucius Institute at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and delivered a key-note speech. He also engaged in in-depth discussions with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Kongratbai Sharipov about future China-Uzbekistan educational cooperation. He paid a visit to Tashkent State Agrarian University and witnessed the inauguration of the Tashkent branch of China’s Northwest A&F University. Minister Huai also visited Tashkent State Transport University, the Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages, and the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.
This visit aimed to put into action the significant agreements reached by China and Uzbekistan’s leaders in January of this year, as well as the consensus reached at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit and the China-Central Asia Summit. The goal was to explore new approaches to educational cooperation, as part of the effort to further strengthen China-Uzbekistan relations. Both parties agreed to establish bilateral and multilateral cooperation mechanisms in the future, with a focus on high-level partnerships in higher education, vocational training, digital learning, and Chinese language programs.
