Vice Minister of Education Chen Jie led a delegation to Belarus from June 25–28, to implement the consensus reached by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and promote the high-quality development of bilateral educational cooperation. While meeting with Belarusian Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets, Chen and Ivanets exchanged views on facilitating brand-building related to collaboration in higher education between China and Belarus, strengthening Chinese language teaching in Belarus, and advancing Sino-Belarusian cooperation in digital education.
During his stay in Belarus, Chen attended the China–Belarus University Presidents’ Forum, witnessed the joint launch of the “China–Belarus Initiative for Cooperation in Basic Scientific Research” by higher education institutions in the two countries, as well as the signing of cooperation agreements. He also visited Belarusian State University and Minsk State Linguistic University.
