Vice Minister of Education Wu Yan met with Attila Brungs, President of Australia’s University of New South Wales (UNSW), on April 24. The two sides exchanged views on promoting Sino-Australian cooperation in higher education and talent exchange.

Wu recalled China’s progress in the development of its higher education system in recent years and recognized the achievements of UNSW in its educational collaboration with Chinese higher education institutions (HEIs). He encouraged UNSW to leverage its strengths to promote deeper cooperation between Chinese and Australian HEIs in scientific research, expand the scale of student exchange, and explore innovative educational partnerships and cooperation in digital education, thus contributing greatly to bilateral relations and friendly exchange between the peoples of the two countries.

Responding positively, Brungs said that UNSW looks forward to establishing closer partnerships and enhancing pragmatic cooperation with its Chinese counterparts, thereby building new momentum for exchange between China and Australia in higher education.
