Chen Jie attends China-Uzbekistan educational forum

The Sino-Uzbek Educational Forum, which aimed to strengthen cooperation between universities in Uzbekistan and China, was held in Beijing on Jan. 22. Chen Jie, Vice Minister of Education of China, and Komiljon Karimov, First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan, attended the forum and delivered speeches.

Chen noted the fruitful results continuously achieved in educational cooperation between the two countries and the forum’s goal of deepening Sino-Uzbek educational collaboration. He said that the high-quality development of Sino-Uzbek educational cooperation has a solid foundation and favorable conditions. Chen said China hopes to take this forum as an opportunity to strengthen the development of cooperative mechanisms, facilitate the establishment of a university alliance, and enhance collaboration in areas such as talent training, scientific research, digital education, language communication, and student and faculty exchange, in order to further expand the depth and breadth of educational cooperation between the two countries.

During the forum, universities from both countries released the Beijing Declaration on Cooperation Between the Universities of China and Uzbekistan, signed multiple cooperation agreements, and engaged in a series of pragmatic exchanges and cooperative activities.
