Vice Minister of Education Chen Jie met with Shoichi Kondo, member of the House of Representatives of Japan, Secretary-General of the Sino-Japan Friendship Parliamentarian’s Union, and President of the Association for Japanese Graduates Studying in China (AJGSC) on Dec. 21. They exchanged views on the promotion of Sino-Japanese educational cooperation, including two-way youth exchange.

Chen said that youth exchange is an important part of educational cooperation between China and Japan. He expressed hope that the AJGSC would play an active role in building friendly ties between young people in the two countries, thus contributing to regional peace and prosperity.

Kondo said his study in China was an unforgettable experience and that he hopes to advance bilateral educational cooperation and facilitate exchange between students and scholars in the two countries.
