Education Minister Huai Jinpeng led a delegation to visit Austria on Nov. 15-16. During the visit, Huai met with Martin Polaschek, Austrian Federal Minister for Education, Science and Research, and Heinz Faßmann, President of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. He also visited the University of Vienna and the Music School of Vienna Children’s Choir.
Minister Huai’s trip was aligned with the consensus reached between the leaders of China and Austria previously, aiming to elevate educational cooperation between the two countries to a new level. It sent a positive message to Austria, reaffirming China’s commitment to opening its education sector wider to the outside world.
Both sides exchanged views on a range of issues, including talent cultivation, collaboration in research, student exchange, digital education, STEM education and arts education. They also reviewed the outcomes achieved to date in the bilateral educational cooperation, and made plans to facilitate results-oriented cooperation between universities in the two countries, with a view to producing more high-caliber professionals with global vision and innovation capabilities.
