Cai Dafeng, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress and Chairman of the Central Committee of the China Democratic National Construction Association (CDNCA), led a delegation to the Ministry of Education (MOE) on March 17 to conduct research on education-related issues and attend a round table discussion. Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng presided over the meeting.
During the meeting, Cai expressed appreciation to the MOE for its long-term support and interest in the work of the CDNCA as well as its remarkable achievements in delivering equitable, inclusive education for all in recent years. He commended the MOE-led education system for its vital role in facilitating China’s efforts toward national rejuvenation and the construction of a strong nation. He expressed his readiness for both organizations to collaborate closely to promote the high-quality development of education, science, technology, and talent.
Huai, in turn, lauded the CDNCA for its advantages in the field of education and its significant contributions to the development of China’s educational reform. He reaffirmed the MOE’s dedication to implementing the blueprint outlined at the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the recently concluded Two Sessions, with an emphasis on enhancing the quality of education. The minister briefed Cai on the MOE’s ongoing reforms in support of China’s social and economic growth, including promoting digital education, building a learning society, enhancing the quality of basic education, and accelerating the development of a modern vocational education system. He expressed his willingness to continue supporting the CDNCA’s efforts in education-related fields in 2023, as well as his wish to collaborate with the CDNCA to promote the further development of education in China.
