Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng met with Nancy Y. Ip, president of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), on March 13. The two sides exchanged views on the development of leading universities, educational cooperation in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), and the cultivation of top-notch, innovative professionals.

Huai acknowledged the achievements made by HKUST in talent cultivation, research and innovation. He also expressed the hope that the university would further strengthen moral education, expand its cooperation with universities in the Chinese mainland, and explore innovative models for talent training.

Prof. Ip expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Education (MOE) for its long-term support for HKUST. She also pledged to align her university with the objectives of GBA development and broader national development through measures such as improving educational quality, enhancing scientific research, etc.
