Chinese Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng met with Niki Kerameus, Minister of Education, Lifelong Learning and Religious Affairs of Greece, via video link on September 7. The two sides discussed progress and experience gained during the reform and development of education in their respective countries and exchanged views on deepening Sino-Greek educational cooperation.
Huai spoke highly of educational cooperation between China and Greece and affirmed the significant outcomes made by the two countries in improving cooperative mechanisms, promoting interschool exchanges, innovating means of linguistic cooperation, and facilitating student exchange.
After introducing China’s achievements in improving equity in education and the digitalization and internationalization of education, Huai said that China and Greece should take the opportunity presented by the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries to strengthen their friendship and reinforce their pragmatic collaboration, especially in areas of digital education, higher education, vocational education, and student exchange.
Kerameus expressd great appreciation for the fruits of Sino-Greek educational exchange. After introducing Greece’s educational development strategy, she expressed her hope that Greece would continue to enhance policy communication and increase cooperation with China in order to further mutual development.
