Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng held a video conference with Li Jiachao, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, on September 1. The two sides exchanged views on patriotic education, educational cooperation between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, and how to involve Hong Kong young people in national development.
Huai recalled President Xi’s remarks on enhancing youth education during his recent inspection trip to Hong Kong. He said the Ministry of Education (MOE) would provide strong support to Hong Kong’s education sector and create favorable conditions for Hong Kong students to pursue further study in the Chinese mainland.
Li expressed gratitude to MOE for its long-term support for Hong Kong in the field of education. Both sides agreed to increase cooperation in student and faculty exchange, talent cultivation, university research, and other areas.
