Huai Jinpeng meets Cuban Minister of Education

Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng held a video conference with Ena Elsa Velazquez Cobiella, Minister of Education of Cuba, on July 5. The two sides exchanged views on deepening educational cooperation between China and Cuba. Zheng Fuzhi, Vice Minister of Education of China, and Cira Pi?eiro Alonso, First Minister of Education of Cuba, also participated.

Huai said that to better cope with the tremendous challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic and to push forward a new round of scientific and technological reform, the Chinese government continues to make education its top priority. As part of this orientation, China has made great efforts to promote people’s all-round development and conduct educational reforms, and has achieved major breakthroughs and remarkable success.

Huai lauded China-Cuba cooperation in education and expressed appreciation for Cuba’s efforts. Huai said China hoped to press ahead with Cuba on projects launched under the China-Cuba educational exchange agreement and strengthen collaboration in digital education, teacher training, language learning, and interschool exchanges.

Ms. Velazquez Cobiella spoke highly of the achievements of China’s education sector and said Cuba hoped to deepen cooperation with China.
