China and Mauritius sign memorandum of understanding on educational cooperation

On May 25, 2022, a memorandum of understanding on educational cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Education of China and the Ministry of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology of Mauritius. The event was attended by Zhu Liying, Chinese ambassador to Mauritius and Leela Devi Dookun Luchoomun, vice-prime minister of the Ministry of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology of Mauritius.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of China’s establishment of diplomatic relations with Mauritius. Over the past five decades, remarkable progress has been made in education exchange between the two sides. In the future, China and Mauritius will focus on areas including inter-school collaboration, joint scientific research programs, Chinese language teaching, and mutual recognition of academic degrees. Closer cooperation between the two countries will contribute to building a China-Africa community with a shared future.
