On May 13, a memorandum on higher education and scientific research cooperation for the period 2022–2026 was signed between China’s Ministry of Education and Cyprus’ Education, Culture, Sport and Youth Office. Liu Yantao, Chinese Ambassador to Cyprus and Prodromos Prodromou, Minister of Education, Culture, Sport and Youth Office of Cyprus attended the event.

Recent years have seen remarkable progress in the education cooperation between China and Cyprus, including in the areas of student exchange, joint education programs and language teaching. And this memorandum is one of the important outcomes of the exchange between presidents of the two countries last year. In the future, both sides will focus on inter-school cooperation, language teaching and online learning, and further enhance bilateral collaboration in education.
