The MOE announced that the 2022 National Vocational Skills Competition would be held in 27 locations across the country between May and August. The event will include 102 competitions ——40 in the junior category and 62 in the senior category.

To coincide with the International Conference on the Development of Vocational and Technical Education, the first International Vocational Skills Competition will be held in Tianjin and Nanchang in June in parallel.

The international event will comprise competitions and an exhibition. Competitions include five major categories: equipment manufacturing, transportation, energy, power and materials, electronics and IT, finance and trade. The exhibition will be organized around three themes: Made in China and traditional culture, artisans, and intangible cultural projects, and entries will be displayed through live events and videos.

Participants will be mostly winners of the 2021 National Vocational Skills Competition and students from vocational schools sponsored by the Luban Workshop, a training program designed to cultivate professional and technical personnel for Chinese firms.
