On November 12, a delegation led by Shao Hong, Vice Chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), visited the Ministry of Education (MOE). The visit aimed to review the progress of the MOE in handling CPPCC’s proposals since the First Session of the 13th CPPCC National Committee held in March 2018.

Shao Hong commended the MOE for its dedicated efforts to handle proposals. He pointed out that the consultations conducted during the handling of proposals was vital to leverage the strengths of China’s socialist consultative democracy. He called for the MOE to continue utilizing the valuable information and intelligent resources provided by CPPCC members, accelerate educational innovations and reforms and thus further promote the quality of education.

Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng said from 2018 to now CPPCC members provided the MOE with a wealth of valuable and insightful recommendations. He pointed out that handling proposals was a political mission of extreme importance and was on the prioritized list of the MOE. In the first half of this year, the MOE issued a document to specify standard work procedures in handling proposals and briefly present success stories. In its next step, the MOE would continue to ensure the effective operation of the proposal handling mechanism, keep closer contact with CPPCC members, and translate CPPCC members' recommendations into concrete actions.
