The official opening ceremony of Chinese School Dubai (CSD) was simultaneously held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and in Hangzhou, China on September 1. Vice Minister of Education Tian Xuejun gave a video address at the ceremony.

Tian stated that, being comprehensive strategic partners, the UAE and China had made steady progress in educational exchange and cooperation, with positive results in various areas at all levels. The CSD represented China’s new initiative to accelerate the opening of the education sector as well as the UAE’s endeavor to break new ground in international education. During the global spread of COVID-19, the UAE and China had worked together to tide over difficulties and make possible the on-schedule completion and inauguration of CSD, fully demonstrating the long-standing friendship between the two countries.

He also noted that the UAE was the second largest trade partner of China in the Arab world, with the highest number of overseas Chinese in the Middle East Gulf region. As one of the first Chinese schools overseas, the CSD was committed to providing overseas Chinese citizens in the UAE and local people with top quality educational resources, while serving as a platform for mutual political trust, economic and people-to-people exchanges and win-win partnerships between the two nations, and a successful model of China-Arab States cooperation on the Belt and Road Initiative in the new era.
