First Meeting of SCO University Coordination Committee held online

On June 30, the First Meeting of the Coordination Committee of the University of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO University) was convened via online video, and was attended by Vice Minister of Education of China Tian Xuejun, education authority officials from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan, inter alia, presidents of the SCO University, secretary-general of Shanghai Cooperation Organization and representatives from observer countries.

During the meeting, SCO University’s achievements for the period 2008-2020 were recalled, plans for 2020-2023 were formulated, and a series of issues were discussed, including how to build a solid legal foundation for the better development of the University and improve its management model.

SCO University is a cooperation network designed to prepare students into professionals in various fields that are in high demand in member countries. The University comprises 82 educational institutions from the Organization's member countries, of which 20 are higher educational institutions in China such as the Dalian University of Foreign Languages.
