The Global Chinese Learning Platform has just launched an international version of its app to the public, aimed at helping Chinese language learners around the world. This app currently supports six languages, i.e. Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Thai, and is expected to be localized for more languages in the future. Under the recommendation of the China Association of Higher Education and some foreign education institutions, an increasing number of foreign learners are using this app.

The platform is a government-funded project led by the Ministry of Education and State Language Commission. It began development at the end of 2016 and was completed in October 2019. It is divided into various sections to suit the needs of different groups of learners, including children, primary and high school students, university students, adults, ethnic minorities, learners from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and foreign Chinese language learners.
