5th Meeting of China-CEEC Higher Education Institution Consortium held in Shenzhen

On May 29, the 5th Meeting of China-CEEC Higher Education Institutions Consortium was held in Shenzhen University, as a side event to the 6th China-CEEC Education Policy Dialogue. The consortium meeting was attended by Vice Minister of Education TIAN Xuejun, Deputy Mayor of Shenzhen GAO Zimin and chief administrators from 24 CEEC (Central and Eastern European Countries) higher education institutions and more than 110 Chinese higher education institutions.

In his speech, Tian stressed that the collaboration between China and CEEC’s higher education institutions was of great significance to China’s international cooperation work in higher education. He called for a deepening of substantive collaboration, to improve the quality of higher education and make it more international.

Centered around the theme of “Cultivation of Innovative Talents for Improving Cooperation between China and CEEC”, many representatives gave speeches and exchanged views on how to promote the adoption and use of best practices in international education through cooperation. An official website for the China-CEEC Higher Education Institutions Consortium was launched to facilitate future exchanges. A series of cooperation agreements were also signed between consortium members including Shenzhen University and the University of Novi Sad, which will be the catalyst for a number of joint projects.
