Jointly hosted by the Ministry of Education and nine other government departments, Vocational Education Week 2019 was launched in Tianjin on May 6 as a way to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the People’s Republic of China.

During the event, the National Vocational Students Skills Competition Museum was opened to the public. The museum houses outstanding projects from past editions of the competition and showcases the latest developments in China’s vocational education. Student volunteers from vocational schools took time off their studies to interact with visitors coming to the museum. For example, students from the Tianjin College of Commerce performed the tea ceremony, while others from Tianjin Medical College offered visitors the chance to experience pressure-point massage which is used as a medical treatment.

As another highlight of Vocational Education Week 2019, a national prize-winning project named “Smart Chemical Engineering” was displayed at the Tianjin Vocational Institute.
