At a press conference held by the Ministry of Education on September 3, Ren Youqun, Director of the Department of Teacher Education of the MOE, announced the full programme for this year’s Teacher’s Day.

Eight highlight events will be held to celebrate this occasion: 1. An awards ceremony for outstanding educational institutions and individuals; 2. A national-level award for China exemplary educators; 3. A non-profit media campaign “The Most Beautiful Teacher 2019”; 4. An on-line publicity campaign to promote the image for teachers in the new era; 5. Roving reports by rural teachers; 6. An exhibition of excellent videos and films about teachers; 7. An open call for good stories about teachers; 8. A publicity campaign for teacher volunteer services.

This series of events are also a way to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
