Vice Minister of Education Wu Yan held separate meetings with Naranbayar Purevsuren, Minister of Education of Mongolia; Buti Manamela, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training of South Africa; and Jacques Frémont, President of the University of Ottawa, on May 15, on the sidelines of the 2025 World Digital Education Conference. The meetings focused on enhancing educational cooperation and exchange.
In his meeting with Naranbayar, Wu said that China will work with Mongolia to implement the consensus reached by their heads of state and increase cooperation in areas such as quality assurance in education, vocational education, higher education, and digital education.
In his meeting with Manamela, Wu noted that China will continue to strengthen its collaboration with South Africa on multilateral platforms such as the G20 and BRICS, while striving for increased educational cooperation under the China–South Africa High-Level People-to-People Exchange Mechanism.
In his meeting with Frémont, Wu expressed hope that the University of Ottawa would play a leading role in Sino-Canadian cooperation, helping to expand mutually beneficial collaboration between Chinese and Canadian universities.
All three foreign guests spoke highly of China’s efforts to advance global digital education and said their countries looked forward to enhancing educational cooperation with China.
