Vice Minister of Education Wang Guangyan held separate meetings on May 15 with Nikolaos Papaioannou, Deputy Minister of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports of Greece; Reynaldo Velázquez Zaldívar, Deputy Minister of Higher Education of Cuba; and Marcelo Bregagnoli, Deputy Minister of Education of Brazil, on the sidelines of the 2025 World Digital Education Conference. The meetings focused on bilateral educational cooperation and exchange.
In his meeting with Papaioannou, Wang expressed China’s readiness to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of China and Greece, by strengthening government cooperation mechanisms, enhancing talent cultivation and research collaboration in key areas, and promoting student and personnel exchanges.
In his meeting with Velázquez, Wang stated that China is committed to advancing the goals under the framework of educational cooperation agreements between China and Cuba.
In his meeting with Bregagnoli, Wang said that China will work with Brazil to promote educational collaboration and people-to-people exchanges, building an educational partnership that will usher in the next “50 golden years” of Sino-Brazilian relations.
All three foreign guests commended China’s efforts to accelerate its development as an educational powerhouse and expressed their hope to learn from China’s experience in education, with a view to achieving mutual benefit and win-win cooperation.
