Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng held a dialogue in Wuhan on the afternoon of May 15 with education ministers from ASEAN countries attending the 2025 World Digital Education Conference there. Vice Minister of Education Wu Yan served as moderator.

Looking forward, Huai called for the establishment of a China–ASEAN Education Ministers Consultative Mechanism, as well as joint efforts to identify priority areas such as talent training, industry–education integration, collaborative scientific research, artificial intelligence development, teacher and student exchanges, in order to create a new cooperation framework for the China–ASEAN comprehensive strategic partnership.
During the dialogue, officials and representatives from ASEAN countries delivered remarks, including Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport of Cambodia; Permpoon Chidchob, Minister of Education of Thailand; and education ministers from Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, and Singapore. They commended achievements in China–ASEAN educational cooperation and expressed unanimous support for Huai’s proposal. They also voiced their willingness to work with China to further promote high-quality development of bilateral educational cooperation and deepen mutual learning and trust across cultures, contributing to a stronger China–ASEAN community with a shared future.
