Wang Hongxu, born in December 1986, was a teacher at the Yucai Primary School in Chongqing. Born into a family of educators, he took up teaching as his life-long pursuit. He worked to give his students a well-rounded education, forging in them a character priming them for life’s greatest opportunities. On June 1, 2021, he tragically gave his life while rescuing two drowning children in Dadukou, Chongqing. In his short life, he gave everything to his students, living out the true meaning of his creed: being a role mode and inspiring others. He was posthumously awarded the “National Excellent Teacher” title.
