This policy stresses the importance of providing comprehensive early childhood education for children aged 0 to 6. To date remarkable progress has been made in preschool education in the 3-6 age group, but more can be done. Since 2017, China has made elaborate plans to promote childcare services. I hope that in future the government will adopt more effective measures to promote all-round growth and development of children, including an increase in childcare service supply, tighter oversight of childcare service providers, training for childcare workers, a more sophisticated mechanism to support childcare service provision, provision of family education guidance to parents, thereby ensuring a smoother transition from child care centers to kindergartens.
