DU Jiangfeng, Han ethnicity, was born in June 1969. He has a postgraduate education and holds the degree of Doctor of Science, Academician of Chinese Academy of Science (CAS), Communist Party of China (CPC) member.

He is currently alternate member of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and member of the CPC Leading Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education.
