Zheng Qiang, president of Guizhou University, is coming to Beijing with six suggestions on education reform, tourism, and culture, with "poverty relief through education" being "the biggest concern" and adding that the education dept should support backward parts of China more.

Zheng Qiang, the president of Guizhou University, who is in Beijing for the 12th National People's Congress, which opens on March 5, says that education and entrepreneurship are important issues that he pays much attention to.

Zheng points to the importance of an education in technology for entrepreneurship and innovation and says he will emphasize culture and education in the 13th Five-year Plan at the annual session of the congress.

He also says he disagrees with the idea of providing elite education in under-developed regions and that instead, China needs mass education for the fair distribution of education resources among people rather than among a small elite group.
